The Chamber is committed to your professional development and to keeping you on the cutting edge of best practices and results-oriented business skills. Business Builders seminars provide you with the management, marketing and financial expertise you need to remain competitive in today’s challenging business environment. Topics vary throughout the year. Past seminars have focused on online marketing, labor laws, strategic planning, time management, taxes and networking skills.

As the premier showcase for the best of Corona, the Business Expo offers exceptional networking and marketing opportunities for your business. This annual event typically draws over 1,000 attendees and is open to the public and free to attend. The exhibit area features special “zones” such as Dining, Home & Garden, Auto, Entertainment, Business to Business, Health & Fitness, Travel, Recreation and Going Green. The Career Day component allows high school students to interact with the business community during workshops and mock interviews. Preparing the next generation for productive employment is extremely important to your Corona Chamber. This year the Business Expo will be held on October 7. Join us at Crossroads Church, 2331 Kellogg Avenue.

CORONA NETWORKING $OLUTIONS

Corona Networking Solutions (CN$) is a networking group comprised of members within your Corona Chamber. This dynamic “sales force” does not limit the number of representatives per classification the way that other networking groups do. Last year 263 leads were generated and over $79,400 in business exchanged hands. Make an effective business connection over lunch! CN$ meets most Thursdays from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at local restaurants. GOOD MORNING CORONA

Good Morning Corona (GMC) is our monthly networking breakfast meeting. We’ll keep you up-to-date on Chamber programs and events, and you’ll receive valuable information from city, county and state representatives. Need to make new contacts? In addition to self-introductions, each meeting allows for extensive networking between the 100+ attendees. This is a also great event to meet new Chamber members. GMC is held the last Thursday of every month at Eagle Glen Golf Club. Doors open at 6:30 AM. The meeting begins at 7 AM and concludes by 8:30 AM. Eagle Glen Golf Club is located at 1800 Eagle Glen Parkway, near I-15 and Cajalco Avenue. Be sure to bring business cards and company literature to display on the table in the lobby area.

GOVERNMENT AND TRANSPORTATION BREAKFAST

Government and Transportation Breakfast meetings feature keynote speakers who discuss critical topics such as zoning, transportation, crime, redevelopment projects, infrastructure and immigration. City, county, state and federal representatives also provide informative updates on current issues. Billed as Issue2Issue or Face2Face, these breakfast meetings are held every odd month, except May when we hope you will join us in Sacramento for the annual Legislative Summit.

Join Corona’s business leaders in Sacramento for the annual California Chamber of Commerce Legislative Summit. This trip enables members like you to develop productive relationships with our elected representatives as well as learn more about the legislative process and how current political issues can affect your business.
The 2008 Legislative Summit, held May 20-21, featured George Stephanopoulos, Chief Washington Correspondent for ABC News and former Senior Adviser to President Bill Clinton, as the keynote speaker.

For over a decade, your Corona Chamber has recruited and prepared members like you for positions of community and public service. The Leadership Corona program provides our community with an ongoing source of spanerse leaders at all levels of business expertise. These leaders are prepared to serve as catalysts and sustainers of positive change for the quality of life in the region. Over 175 inspaniduals have graduated the program, which combines classroom instruction with active hands-on training at locations throughout the greater Corona trade area.
Enroll today to learn about the opportunities and challenges that face the region, meet and interact with current political, community and business leaders, develop your leadership skills and explore long-term opportunities for civic leadership. New sessions begins each Fall.

MAGIC OF MONTE CARLO

Designed as a formal adult affair, the Magic of Monte Carlo features a Texas Hold’em Tournament and casino-style gaming with Black Jack, Roulette and Craps. Elegant food stations, drinks and a live and silent auction round out the evening. This is the Chamber’s major fundraising event. Our Legislative Action Committee, as well as many member benefits, are funded from the revenues of this event. It’s a safe bet that you’ll have a great time this June.

MEGA MIXER

Mega Mixers are an excellent opportunity for you to meet other Chamber members and learn about their businesses. Typically attended by more than 150 business representatives, you’re sure to make many new and beneficial connections. With fun themes and tons of raffle prizes, Mega Mixers make doing business a pleasure.
For 2009, Mega Mixers are planned in March, June, August and November. While typically held on the third Thursday from 5 to 7 PM, locations and times for Mega Mixers may vary.

QUARTERLY MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON

Our Quarterly Membership Luncheon will keep you up-to-date on Chamber programs and events. In addition to the annual Salute to the Armed Forces and the Mayor’s State of the City Address, keynote speakers at past luncheons have included members of Congress, State Assemblymen, State Insurance Commissioners and judges sharing their expertise, vision and passion.
We recognize outstanding members at each luncheon with the Award of Excellence in retail, service, manufacturing/distribution and non-profit categories. One outstanding new member is presented with the Outstanding Rookie Award. Award winners are selected from nominations submitted by members. In 2009, Chamber Quarterly Membership Luncheons are scheduled for February, April, July, October and December. Check-in begins at 11 AM and the meeting begins at 11:30 AM. This event is open to the public and reservations are encouraged. Locations for these luncheons vary.
