This month’s magazine theme is “Business Success Stories.” It highlights some of our business partners with great histories and, with the economy in tough shape, I am glad we chose this theme. A mentor of mine has always shared his philosophy that although stocks will always rise and drop, if you can afford to leave your investments alone, over a period of years you will see gain. I remember during the dot com growth explosion that stocks were going crazy. Then, before you knew it, the dot bomb hit.

WHAT WE CAN LEARN FROM EUROPE

A recent trip afforded me the opportunity to spend 18 days with our youngest son, Joshua, as we traveled through Europe, specifically Germany, where we visited cousins on my Dad’s side and took advantage of the many sites, museums and exhibitions this country offers. Neither time nor space is sufficient to enable me to share details of the entire trip. I would, however, like to take a moment to share a few areas in which we (as a community and a nation) could derive value.
